The Sun Sets on Cornelia
SIZE 24” x 36” x 1.5”
mixed media collage on canvas
This painting is made with acrylic paint, inks, collage papers and glazes, along with various mark making tools. Between the collage and the paint, there is a lot of texture on the surface giving the high contrast of lights and darks more gravity.
About This Painting: “The Sun Sets on Cornelia” was based on a series of photos I took a number of years ago at an old private air strip that was repurposed into part of Nasvhille’s greenway system. I did my best to use a lot of collage, free marks and random patterns to depict the magic of the place as the sun sets or rises over it. Like my other work, this was made in the energy of gratitude for this planet to which we belong.
I use mixed media, collage being a major part. Over a very long period of time, this painting may alter slightly in color and saturation due to the use of collage and various materials of an organic nature. I consider this ‘alive’ characteristic of the work to be part of the expression itself. For long term protection, I apply several coats of permanent archival varnish and also, with all original artwork, suggest keeping the painting out of direct sunlight.
Shipping + How This Painting Arrives: Only customers living in North America will have their shipping reflected at checkout. If you live outside of the U.S./Canada, contact me before purchase and I will handle your purchase personally. I ship paintings like this flat and very carefully packaged to protect it during transit. I do my best to ship within 3-5 days of receiving your order.
Sometimes auto-calculated shipping can really vary from actual costs, especially if you order multiple paintings that I can ship together. If I find that what you have paid for shipping exceeds the actual shipping cost + packaging expenses, I will refund the difference to you.

Note: I sign my artwork on the back so it doesn’t intrude on the painting. If you’d prefer to have a signature on the front, just let me know.
